San Diego Theatre Connection announces BEARSPRAY, a ONE NIGHT ONLY Special Event May 12th at the Lyceum Theatre Downtown. Written by local playwright, Bill Kerlin, this musical parody uses familiar tunes with original lyrics, choreography, and a hilarious new story. Set in 1963 in the fictional town of Mimosa Heights, a cast of characters led by "Tangy" Tonic are determined to find a clean, sober life beyond their wildest dreams including a chance to dance on the "Corky Poppers Show".
Gay Men's Spiritual Retreat is an annual event that seeks to enhance the spiritual lives of gay men. The event will be held this June 8th-10th at Camp Stevens in Julian, CA. The weekend is filled with workshops, group activities and a safe space to examine and improve spirituality. The G.M.S.R. 2018 theme is "Bold and Free", held with the backdrop of this year's historic #MeToo movement, which has empowered both women and men around the world affected by assault and harassment.
All proceeds from the BEARSPRAY performance will go to G.M.S.R. and the scholarship fund to allow as many men as possible to attend. Gay Men's Spiritual Retreat is an alcohol and drug-free event founded in 1991 on 12-step principles and open to all who wish to grow spiritually. For more information go to www.gmsr.org
