The new comedy of horrors, She-Rantulas From Outer Space-in 3D!, conceived and written by local authors Phil Johnson and Ruff Yeager, began production last week for its world premiere production at Diversionary Theatre. The shows first performance is October 24 with and official opening November 2.

The show is a send-up of the femme fatales and B-movie horror stories of the 1950s. When a horror-horde of monster-mutants invades Small Town U.S.A., one All-American Mother must face the truth about her little Suzie and destroy her evil Web of Terror.

The cast features Andy Collins (Harry/Harriet), Melinda Gilb (Flora, Gladys, et.al.),Fred Harlow (Fred/Freida), Tony Houck (Suzie), and Phil Johnson (Betty).

The authors describe the show this way, "there will be carnage! There will be destruction! There will be men in women's clothing! The Management requests that you PLEASE not reveal the SHOCKING final scene to friends or family members, and guarantee to BURY YOU without charge if you die of FRIGHT. To avoid fainting, keep telling yourself it's only a play..."

In addition to Johnson and Yeager, the creative team includes Chad Yeager (Set Design), Kevin Anthenill (Sound Design), Jennifer Brawn-Gittings (Costume Design), Luke Olson (Lighting Design), Peter Herman (Wigs & Make-up Design), David Medina (Prop Design) Avalon Middleton (Stage Manager), Bret Young(Producing Director), and John E. Alexander (Executive Director).
