Rehearsals are well underway for not one, but three full-length plays opening in previews at Cygnet Theatre this month. Making the rehearsal process even more impressive...all three shows feature the same distinguished cast. Artistic Director Sean Murray and Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke are pleased to announce the cast of Alan Ayckbourn's trilogy - THE NORMAN CONQUESTS - which includes Danny Campbell, Sandy Campbell, Ron Choularton, Albert Dayan, Joanne Glover and Frances Anita Rivera. The three full-length plays (Table Manners, Round and Round the Garden and Living Together) run in rotating repertory July 28th through November 7th, 2010. Press Openings are Saturday, August 7th at 12pm, 4pm and 8pm.

THE NORMAN CONQUESTS, which earned a 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival in its most recent full-trilogy Broadway incarnation, tells the story of a quirky librarian and his similarly unconventional in-laws over one hilarious weekend. Each play in Ayckbourn's trilogy reveals the story from a different room in an English county home and each uncovers more and more hysterical answers to the characters' peculiar behaviors - ultimately creating a final uproarious picture. Uniquely crafted for each play to stand entirely on its own, audiences have the option of enjoying a single show in the series or partaking in all three for even deeper insight and more laugh-filled revelations.

The extreme demands of cast, designers and rehearsal time necessary to produce all three plays deter most theatres from producing the entire trilogy, opting instead to undertake only one of the three. Cygnet is proud to offer audiences the complete Ayckbourn trilogy and delighted to have found the perfect group of artists to bring it to life.

The cast of THE NORMAN CONQUESTS includes Albert Dayan (Noises Off!) as Norman, Sandy Campbell (Noises Off!, Mauritius, Communicating Doors - Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Lead Performance) as Sarah, Resident Artist Jo Anne Glover (The Receptionist - Critics Circle for Best Featured Performance) as Annie, Ron Choularton (St. Nicholas - Critics Circle for Best Solo Performance, My Fair Lady - Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Feature Performance in a Musical) as Reg, Danny Campbell as Tom and Frances Anita Rivera as Ruth.

The production team includes the co-direction of Artistic Director Sean Murray and Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke; Set Design by Resident Artist Sean Fanning; Lighting Design by Michelle Caron; Sound Design by Resident Artist George Ye; Properties Design by Resident Artist Bonnie L. Durben; Costume Design by Resident Artist Jeanne Reith; Wig and Makeup Design by Resident Artist Peter Herman; and Resident Artist Stage Manager, Rosalee Barrientos.

Cygnet Theatre is one of the only theatres in the country to produce the entire NORMAN CONQUEST trilogy this year. The nearly four-month run performed in rotating repertory opens in preview July 28th on Cygnet's Old Town Stage located at 4040 Twiggs St. in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.. Press Openings are Saturday, August 7th at 12pm, 4pm and 8pm. The run of THE NORMAN CONQUESTS include three Conquer Norman Saturdays - with all three plays performed on the same day - at 12pm, 4pm and 8pm. True Norman enthusiasts are invited to spend the day with Norman. Special lunch and dinner packages will be available at local Old Town restaurants.

Tickets for each of the three shows can be purchased individually by visiting Cygnet's website at www.cygnettheatre.com or calling the box office at (619) 337-1525.
