Poway OnStage has announced its exciting 2016/2017 Professional Performance Series.

A message from Michael Rennie, Poway OnStage President and CEO:

"A funny thing happened while we were building our 2016/17 Professional Performance Series: we found ourselves with an opportunity to present an abundance of young talent! We recognize that some of the names in this year's roster may be new to you; others may be old favorites. But regardless whether you are hearing these performers for the first time or if you have been a life-long fan, each show promises outstanding artistry and a memorable experience.

"And voices, quite literally, take center stage this season: from Home Free's exciting, new take on a cappella music, to the inimitable style of singer-songwriter Neko Case, to the soulful sounds of American Idol finalist Crystal Bowersox to The Doo Wop Project, which tracks vocal music from the street corners of 1950s Philadelphia to the radio hits of today.

"We also welcome encore performances by old friends: Clint Black, who sold out the house in 2013 with an intimate acoustic show, returns with a full band. Political satirists the Capitol Steps return to bring a few smiles to the election cycle. Guitarists Andy McKee and Celino Romero share a bill to present a world-premiere performance. And the Back to the Garden band host a collection of more than a dozen local performers to celebrate some of the most influential singer-songwriters of the 20th century.

"Add to this international legend Jose Feliciano, bluesmen the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Irish music legends the Irish Rovers and lavish Bollywood production show Taj Express, and you have one of most eclectic - and electric! - seasons to date.

"Last year Poway OnStage celebrated its 25th year of presenting talent on Poway's intimate stage. With our 2016/17 season, we chart a course for the next 25 years - bold, fresh, varied and exciting!"
