SAVE STARLIGHT, a 501(c)3 non-profit community initiative welcomes Councilmember Todd Gloria to the Reverse Gardening Community Clean Up Event and Campaign Video Shoot at the Starlight Bowl on August 13th, 9am - noon. Gloria encourages the community efforts.
"I am happy to see SAVE STARLIGHT bringing the community together in this grassroots campaign to clean up the Starlight Bowl. They have a strong passion for this historic space, and I'm looking forward to rolling up my sleeves on August 13th to show my support." - Todd Gloria, San Diego Councilmember
The clean up event kicks off SAVE STARLIGHT'S campaign to preserve, revive, and revitalize the Starlight Bowl, an abandoned open-air amphitheater located in historic Balboa Park. Their mission is to revive the bowl as a viable community venue to host a new generation of inclusive and varied performances that reflect San Diego's creative communities and culture.
SAVE STARLIGHT is working alongside the city as they create a broad coalition of community support for their efforts. In addition to individual underwriting and participation, the coalition has received in-kind event support from The Home Depot, T&T Creative, Noah Homes, Albertsons and Zorba's Greek Restaurant. On August 13th, as the community shows their personal support by joining in the clean up, SAVE STARLIGHT will film the collaboration to create a Fund-raising Campaign Video. Snacks will be provided for volunteers and musical accompaniment will enliven the bowl.
