The most wonderful time of the year rolls into Coronado Playhouse featuring the locally written holiday hit, Mistletoe, Music & Mayhem!, Dec. 11-21. With book by Matt Thompson and Phil Johnson and music and lyrics by Rayme Sciaroni, this musical mish mash of sketches and original songs cures the holiday blues and puts you on the right list with Santa. Mistletoe, Music & Mayhem is staged in our intimate cabaret style theatre with performances to fit any holiday schedule playing weekends December 11-December 21, 2014. The show runs approximately 85 minutes and is performed without intermission.
Mistletoe, Music & Mayhem is filled with outrageous scenes of holiday traditions around the world and an irreverent tribute to Santa Claus along with a twist on some Christmas classics. The production is family friendly although parents should use discretion with children 10 years of age and younger. Laugh at the meowing group of singing carolers, the Jewish boy explaining Hanukah to a nun and see what happens when jolly Old Saint Nic uses his GPS device to deliver presents.
This production was born in 2011 at the North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach when a director, comedian and published author collaborated to create the ultimate Christmas musical review. The efforts of Matt Thompson, Phil Johnson and Rayme Sciaroni have quickly become a San Diego County holiday tradition with the show playing to sold out audiences at North Coast Rep, Ocean Beach Playhouse and now Coronado Playhouse, the Community's Theatre.
During the production, Coronado Playhouse is partnering with the Hearts for San Diego Community Shoe Drive. The joint effort will raise money for local charities and
help those in need this holiday season. We are collecting ALL kinds of footwear for men, women and children in ANY condition, including ice and roller skates! Buy tickets and drop off your shoe donations when you come to the show. For more information on how to help please visit www.HeartsForSD.org.
Cast members who are featured in multiple roles include Jacob Davis, Linda Kullmann, Tatiana Mac, Wilfred Paloma and Meredith Russo with musical accompaniment by Kirk Valles. The production is directed by Rayme Sciaroni and co-director Desha Crownover and produced by Katy Skyrud.
