Jack O'Brien has been a significant force in the theatre community both in San Diego and beyond. Now the Old Globe Artistic Director Emeritus returns to The Old Globe Theatre for a special discussion with current Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein on Monday, December 7th at 7:00pm.

Three-time Tony Award Winner Jack O'Brien currently is the director of this season's Broadway production of "Macbeth" starring Ethan Hawke but he is not stranger to the New York or San Diego stage. Besides serving as the Artistic Director at the Old Globe Theatre from 1982 - 2007, some of his Broadway credits include " The Nance", "Dead Accounts", "Catch Me if you Can", "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", and "Hairspray." This special discussion will explore his early experiences in theatre, his time at The Old Globe, and to discuss his new book "Jack Be Nimble: The Accidental Education of an Unintentional Director". He will also be signing copies of his book after the presentation.

Jack O'Brien is an American master and one of San Diego's greatest contributions to American culture," said Edelstein. "I am honored to welcome him back to a place that is, after all, his home, and thrilled to be able to bask in his art, wisdom, and abundant wit. His book is delightful and nourishing on many levels, and I'm pleased to commend it to his hometown crowd."

Tickets are on sale $7 for subscribers and full-time students and $10 for general audiences and can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE, or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.
