San Diego Theatre Connection is Creating Community at Lamplighters, San Diego's first community theatre, completing its historic 80th Anniversary Season. The season finale production features the Tony-award winning fantasy, Peter and the Star Catcher. The innovative play-with-music upends the century-old story of how a lost orphan becomes Peter Pan, the boy who would not grow up. This is a wildly theatric adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's best-selling novels and the play was conceived for the stage by directors, Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, and written by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Star Catcher, playfully explores the back story that includes how Peter became Pan, the Captain got his hook, and where Tinker Bell came from.
During the month-long run of the production, donations are being collected for Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. The BECOME A STAR CATCHER Campaign encourages audience members to give cash or a donation of household items to help families during their hospital stay. Find out how you can help at www.rmhcsd.org
