AVENUE Q, the smash-hit Broadway musical about real life in New York City, as told by a cast of people and puppets; at the CIVIC THEATRE, will play the San Diego Civic Theatre Tuesday July 6 through Sunday July 11. AVENUE Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who moves to NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship, and a "purpose." Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of city life and realizes that "the real world" isn't so bad, after all.

"IN THE HEIGHTS: Chasing Broadway Dreams" will air on Saturday, June 5 at 1PM on KPBS. This "Great Performances" special chronicles the personal stories of composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Broadway cast of IN THE HEIGHTS in the months leading up to opening night, and premiered on PBS stations across the country in May 2009.

IN THE HEIGHTS, winner of four 2008 Tony Awards and the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, is coming to San Diego Civic Theatre, July 27 through August 1, 2010. IN THE HEIGHTS tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood - a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

The Civic Theatre is located at1100 Third Avenue, 3rd and B Street. Call (619) 570-1100; or Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787 for tickets, or visit online at www.sdcivic.org.
