10th Annual VOICES OF IRELEAND By Write Out Loud Announced Image

Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for a live audience - presents VOICES OF IRELAND, their tenth annual celebration of the Emerald Isle, with classic and contemporary Irish tales and music. Write out Loud has been producing Voices of Ireland every March since 2011. VOICES OF IRELAND is performed for one night only on Monday, March 16th at 7:30pm at Lamb's Players Theatre. Performers include Agustine Welles, Linda Libby, Walter Ritter & Veronica Murphy. Pre-show and intermission music will be provided by the Celtic Echoes.

Write Out Loud Artistic Director, Veronica Murphy shared, "Voices of Ireland is our most popular story concert each year. With the wealth of material from Ireland's rich literary culture, the most difficult task is to narrow the program down to just a few rewarding and moving stories to celebrate the land of my ancestors."

Literary Selections to Include:

The Mermaid by Liam O'Flaherty read by Agustine Welles

My Two Mothers by Edna O'Brien read by Linda Libby

Malachy by Irish San Diego author, Winifred Hoy, read by Veronica Murphy & Walter Ritter

Two by Frank O'Connor - They didn't name a literary prize (Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award) after him for nothing -

The Bridal Night - read by the Company

Androcles and the Army - read by Walter Ritter and Agustine Welles

Music provided by Celtic Echos featuring Kathleen Hartshorn - Celtic Harp, Tim Brittain - Fiddle, Jim Moore - Guitar, Diane Wilson - Flute, Michael Ballard - Bodhran
