RBC Capital Markets presents The Day The Music Died - A Tribute to Buddy Holly featuring Stewart Mann. Buddy Holly was one the driving forces in the early days of rock & roll. Born in Lubbock, Texas, Holly and his band the Crickets were years ahead of their competition. On February 2nd, following a show at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, Holly chartered a plane to fly him and the band to the next stop, Moorehead, Minnesota. The small plane crashed just minutes after takeoff but due to a blinding snowstorm. The death of the stars caused this to be called ‘The Day The Music Died.’ Stewart Mann and his band will recreate the music played at Holly’s final concert at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
