Named one of the most fun people in show business by Time Magazine, ALAN CUMMING performs in the raucous one-man show. ALAN CUMMING: SINGS SAPPY SONGS is an eclectic, wildly entertaining mix of intimate stories - from the sentimental to the sassy - and witty reinterpretations of pop songs and stage classics.
Sings Sappy Songs is inspired by Cumming’s year hosting the infamous “Club Cumming” in his dressing room during the revival of Cabaret on Broadway and acclaimed residency at New York’s legendary Carlyle Hotel. Joining him on stage for a night of irreverent humor and mischief-making is long-time collaborator and Emmy Award-winning musical director Lance Horne and cellist Eleanor Norton.
Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs will be released by Yellow Sound Label on February 5. Fans can expect to hear Cumming's take on songs by Billy Joel, Rufus Wainwright and Miley Cyrus, as well as a selection of Broadway show tunes and world music.
ALAN CUMMING plays political maverick Eli Gold on CBS’s The Good Wife, for which he received Golden Globe, Emmy, SAG, and Satellite award nominations. Earlier this year he finished his Tony Award-winning role of the Emcee in the Broadway musical Cabaret.
His appearances on stage and screen have garnered him numerous awards, accolades and an international audience of fans who admire him for his singing and acting chops as well as his unflinching, irrepressible sense of humor.
