The San Antonio Symphony is getting movie fans excited for the winter holidays this summer with the announcement of its latest "live-to-picture" movie performance of Home Alone on December 22 - 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre.
As part of the Symphony's winning movie magic partnership with the Santikos Entertainment and the Majestic Theatre, the beloved holiday comedy will be shown in HD, performed live-to-picture by the San Antonio Symphony orchestra.
A true holiday favorite, this beloved comedy classic features renowned composer John Williams' charming and delightful score performed live. Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who's accidentally left behind when his family leaves for Christmas vacation, and who must defend his home against two bungling thieves. Hilarious and heart-warming, Home Alone is holiday fun for the entire family!
"The positive response in sales we received for 'Jurassic Park in Concert' next spring has shown us that San Antonio really loves 'live-to-picture' movies to a Symphony performance," said David Gross, San Antonio Symphony President. "We wanted to extend this love of film-watching to the holidays to encourage families to add this unique movie experience to their holiday memories. We are excited to team up with the Santikos Entertainment and the Majestic once again to help make this happen."
"Santikos Entertainment values high quality entertainment, and we are honored to show our continued support to the San Antonio Symphony and help bring movie magic to the big screen in the beautiful and historic Majestic Theatre," said David Holmes, CEO of Santikos Entertainment.
