Mini Blog: Morgan Clyde as Fiona

The View From Fiona's Tower: Entry 7

We have arrived. Set is built, costumes are done, band is rocking, and we are ready to open.

This will easily go down as one of my favorite shows I've done in my lifetime, and every person involved has a hand in that:

Our crew is outstanding. This is such a huge technical show, and wouldn't be possible without incredible artists in charge of the set, lights, sound, costumes, and makeup. And watching the backstage crew work their magic is a show in itself.

Darrin and the band are doing an amazing job bringing these songs to life. Feeling the drums, horns, and guitars marrying with the keyboards we've rehearsed with along the way brings such an indescribable warmth, and the fun and excitement in these numbers is not often rivaled.

The cast is perfection. Everyone brings their A game, and there's not a single person who doesn't have a chance to shine in their own individual way, which helps drive home the message of the show all the more.

And we're in good hands, too. Mark's direction and Alonzo's choreography have helped catapult the storytelling to an incredibly enjoyable and satisfying level. With such talent and vision at the helm, how can we go wrong?

We can't wait to share this. Thanks for following our journey. See you all at the Woodlawn!

Morgan is no stranger to the Woodlawn, having spent time both on the stage in "Rock of Ages" and "Sweeney Todd", and as fight master for shows such as "West Side Story", "Peter Pan", and "Pippin". She is not only an avid performer and fight choreographer; she is also a director, a designer, and a playwright. Notable performances include Justice in "Rock of Ages", Audrey II in "Little Shop of Horrors" (Vexler Theatre), and her award-winning Kate in "Taming of the Shrew" (Classic Theatre).

Shrek, The Musical plays at the Woodlawn Theatre in San Antonio, Texas from June 30-July 30, 2017. Purchase tickets at the Woodlawn Theatre's Website. It's going to be a fun family show for everyone.
