GOOD COMPANY THEATRE PRESENTS MARIE ANTOINETTE
AT NEW THEATRE LOCATION
October 13-29 | Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 4pm
Ogden, Utah--Good Company Theatre is excited to present David Adjmi’s Marie Antoinette, a contemporary play about the life of deposed and beheaded queen of France, Marie Antoinette.
She is a confection created by a society that values extravagance and artifice. But France’s love affair with the royals sours as revolution brews, and for Marie, the political suddenly becomes very personal. From the light and breezy banter at the palace to the surging chants of "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité!" in the streets, Marie Antoinette holds a mirror up to our contemporary society that might just be entertaining itself to death.
“This show couldn’t be more timely,” reflects Good Company Theatre Co-Director and Producer Alicia Washington. “Marie Antoinette is dark, funny, and a cautionary tale that shatters the idea that ignorance is bliss.”
Marie Antoinette is directed by Teresa Sanderson (Pygmalion Productions, Plan-B Theatre Company), and stars Lori Rees (9 to 5, Into The Woods) as Marie Antoinette. The show also features performances by Jesse Nepivoda (Cripple of Inishmaan, RED), Chantelle Bender (Pirated!), Allen Smith (Race, The Nether), Kristi Curtis (Crucible, The Foreigner), Aaron Michael Ross (Arcadia, Urinetown), Jake Trumbo (Bus Stop, Jekyll and Hyde), Paul Naylor (Appropriate, The Nether), and introducing Chance Trumbo.
This production features adult language and themes, and is recommended for audiences ages 13 and over. It runs October 13-29, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 4pm. Tickets are available for $17 online at goodcotheatre.com and at the door. ADA parking and seating available.
We are excited to present Marie Antoinette at our new location at 2402 Wall Avenue in Ogden.
Ages: This production features adult language and themes, and is recommended for audiences ages 13 and over.
