The Utah Shakespeare Festival will hold a private fundraising event for the new Shakespeare Theatre at the home of Ambassador John Price and his wife, Marcia Price tonight, June 3rd. This event features an evening of food, entertainment, and fun with Festival artists and friends.
“We are thrilled that Ambassador Price has generously opened up his home for this exclusive event,” said R. Scott Phillips, Festival executive director. “We’ve invited influential Utahans that can help us realize the dream of building this new Shakespeare Theatre, and we think this evening is sure to be a memorable one.”
The program, The Golden Age, will feature the gowns of Queen Elizabeth I, which will be narrated by the Festival Founder, Fred C. Adams. Utah Jazz former Head Coach and President of the Utah Jazz, Frank Layden, and his wife Barbara will also be serving as the Lord and Lady of the evening. "Frank and Barbara have been long time patrons of the Festival and are avid theatre supporters. We are honored to have them lend their voice in our fundraising efforts for this new theatre project,” said Phillips.

The eight-play season includes Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor Titus Andronicus and Hamlet.
