Over the last few years, carving specialist Brian Baity has created many fine works of art, including a carved ostrich egg commemorating the 150th anniversary of Vermillion, South Dakota, now on permanent display in Vermillion's City Hall.

In 2009 West Valley City, Utah commissioned Brian to carve a special gift for Sister City Boca del Rio, Veracruz, Mexico. Brian then created a multiple piece display which is part of the tenth year celebration of the Lan Su Yuan Chinese Garden in Portland, Oregon. In both 2009 and 2010 Brian received awards for his carvings from Utah's prestigious "Best of State" program. Baity achieved international fame in 2011 showcasing his works at the Municipal Historical Museum in Velingrad, and at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore in Sofia, Bulgaria, celebrating Bulgarian Culture and Education Day.

Now you can witness the works of one of Utah's most celebrated artists at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. At our exhibit, you can see actual duck, quail, emu, and ostrich eggs carved with delicate precision. In addition, you can see an egg that Baity gave to the city of West Valley showcasing vignettes dear to the city. These eggs must be seen to be believed.
