It's a Phantom unlike any you've seen before when Vox Lumiere brings their new production of Phantom of the Opera to Salt Lake City, combining rock opera and silent film to create a thrilling entertainment experience! Vox Lumiere will perform Phantom of the Opera at Kingsbury Hall on the University of Utah campus on Friday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29.50 and are available by calling 801-581-7100 or visiting www.kingtix.com.

Vox's Phantom combines new rock music with the classic 1925 Lon Chaney silent film. This brilliant film features Chaney in his greatest role. His portrayal as the masked composer who lives deep within the Paris Opera House, and his eerie unmasking scene, still makes audiences gasp! Combined with new music by Kevin Saunders Hayes, "old films mixed with live performances become a unique art form." - Los Angeles Times

Thirty University of Utah students from the Department of Theatre's new Musical Theatre Program will also be performing with Vox Lumiere for the public performance, as well as a school matinee earlier that day. Under the direction of musical theatre professor David Schmidt, the students will perform several songs with the Vox company, as a part of Kingsbury Hall's mission to provide professional performing opportunities for College of Fine Arts students.

Vox Lumiere (pronounced voks lu-me-air) is "rock concert meets silent film". The award-winning live theatrical production combines new music and silent film in a radical and thrilling retelling of timeless movie masterpieces. Vox Lumiere's 5-time 1st-round Grammy-nominated singers, dancers and musicians come together with new music, film, lighting, multi-media and live performance to create a mind-boggling entertainment experience that brings classic silent films to life!
