SLCC Hosts 12th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration 2/5

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) also known as Carnaval, is a celebration shared around the world. It is a time for people to enjoy themselves before the start of the Lenten fasting season. Join South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and New Orleans in this great celebration.
Entertainment will include live samba and pagode music from Samba Gringa and BR 801 Pagode, fire dancers Samba Fogo, Salt Lake Capoeira, Stilt Walkers, the SLCC Dance Co and more. Samba dance lesson at 7:30 pm.

The 12th Annual Mardi Gras and Carnaval Celebration happens on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 7:30 pm to Midnight. The event will be on Salt Lake Community College's Taylorsville Redwood Campus (4600 South Redwood Road) in the Student Event Center (Student Center).

Tickets are only $5.00, $2.00 for children under 12 and free with a costume available through International Student Services (957-4528) or at the SLCC Courtesy Desk. Tickets include Mardi Gras beads and the evening's entertainment.
