"Oh the things you can think!" when Dr. Seuss's best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper! Seussical opens at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse today, August 7th, and runs through September 19th with performances on Monday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge-not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Seussical the Musical is directed by Charlene Adams (Layton) with Jason Scanlon (Clearfield) as the Cat in the Hat, Elton Dean (Layton) as Horton the Elephant, Brittney Salazar (Layton) as Gertrude Mcfuzz, and Emma Scanlon (Clearfield) and Alec Peterson (Layton) as Jojo. Seussical the Musical also features a very large and colorful ensemble with over 50 cast members on the stage every night!

Seussical is a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty based on the books of Dr. Seuss that debuted on Broadway in 2000. The play's story is a rather complex amalgamation of many of Seuss's most famous books. After a Broadway run, the production spawned two US national tours and a UK tour. It has become a favorite for school, community and regional theatres. It is produced with special permission from Musical Theatre International.
