Pioneer Theatre Company to present its 2013 Bravo! Award on Friday, May 3, 2013.
Each year Pioneer Theatre Company presents the Bravo! Award to an individual, foundation or corporation in recognition of significant philanthropic and civic contributions to PTC, the arts and the community. This year's honoree is James L. Macfarlane.
Mr. Macfarlane joined the Pioneer Theatre Company board in 2006. He served as board chair from 2009 through 2011, proving to be an invaluable partner as the theatre embarked on a complex capital campaign. In addition to his generosity and commitment to PTC, Mr. Macfarlane is a tireless supporter of the University of Utah. He has served on several boards, including eight years on the institution's Board of Trustees, six of which were as chair. He also served on the Alumni Association, David Eccles School of Business, Crimson Club, and Red Butte Garden boards. Currently, he is a member of the U's National Advisory Council and Health Sciences Council. For his longtime commitment, loyalty, and selfless service to PTC and the university community we are pleased to honor Mr. Macfarlane with our 2013 Bravo! Award.
The award will be presented at the annual PTC Bravo! Award Gala fundraiser. Groups and individuals from the community are invited to attend the event to celebrate the honoree on Friday, May 3, 2013. Gala attendees will enjoy a reception and dinner at Rice-Eccles Stadium followed by a performance of LES MISERABLES at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
