Tickets for each of the seven remaining shows in Pioneer Theatre Company's 2010-2011 Season will go on sale Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
The season includes a hit adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, which runs from October 22 through November 6, 2010; Irving Berlin's White Christmas, based on the 1954 film of the same title, which runs from December 3 through December 24, 2010; the hilarious one act Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer running from January 14 through January 29, 2011; the world premiere of a new drama In by Bess Wohl, the author of last season's Touch(ed), which runs from February 18 through March 5, 2011; The Diary of Anne Frank, a co-production with Indiana Repertory Theatre, which runs from March 18 through April 2, 2011; Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning Sunset Boulevard, which runs from April 29 through May 14, 2011; and the regional premiere of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning landmark pop-rock opera Rent by Jonathan Larson, which runs from June 10 through June 25, 2011.
"Before October 6th, the only way to get tickets to these shows was by purchasing season tickets," notes PTC Managing Director Chris Lino. "The good news for us is that more than 8,000 patrons did purchase season tickets-but that means that over half of our tickets for all performances are already gone. In the past, shows like Les Miserables, Chicago, Peter Pan, Pride and Prejudice and last season's A Christmas Story sold out before those shows opened, so patrons who want seats for Dracula, White Christmas, Sunset Boulevard, Rent or any of our remaining shows should order as soon as possible."
Patrons can purchase tickets through the Pioneer Theatre Box Office located in the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre, at 300 South and 1400 East on the University of Utah Campus, or by calling 801-581-6961, or through the PTC website at www.pioneertheatre.org. The box office's hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the run of a show.
Individual ticket prices range from $24.00 to $54.00; half-priced tickets for children in grades K-12 for all Monday and Tuesday performances may also be purchased. Group discounts are available.
