Pioneer Theatre Company Announces Children's Auditions for A Christmas Story By Philip Grecian
An open call audition for children ages 5 through 13 for PTC's holiday production, A Christmas Story, will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2009.
The audition will be held from 2:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. on the campus of the University of Utah, in the West Institute Building. The building is located at 1340 East 300 South, Salt Lake City, UT, directly west of Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Auditions will take place in Rooms 130 and 150 of the West Institute Building.
Auditions are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, parents must contact ElizaBeth Williamson at 801-585-5855 or via email at elizabeth.williamson@ptc.utah.edu. Scripts and sides will be available for checkout on an overnight basis from the Business Office of Pioneer Theatre Company (Room 325 of the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre) as early as noon on Monday, August 31st, 2009.
All roles are currently available. There are parts for children ages 5 through 13; children must be under 14. If children turn 14 during the run of the production (from December 4th through December 19th, 2009), they should not audition.
A Christmas Story is the stage version of the classic holiday film by Philip Grecian, about Ralphie's quest for a Red-Ryder air rifle.
Rehearsal dates for the production are Monday, November 9th, 2009 - Thursday, December 3rd, 2009; performance dates are December 4th, 2009 - December 19th, 2009. Guest Paul Barnes (who recently directed Romeo & Juliet at PTC) returns to direct the production.
