Tickets for the rest of the productions of Pioneer Theatre Company's 2017-2018 season go on sale this week to the general public at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Audiences will be able to purchase tickets to any of the season's plays and musicals, including Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's Bright Star and crowd-favorite, Mamma Mia!.
The rest of the season includes A Comedy of Tenors, the sequel to Ken Ludwig's 1989 hit Lend Me a Tenor, which opens later this month (Oct. 20 - Nov. 4), Disney's hit musical Newsies (Dec. 1-20), Bright Star (Jan. 12-27), the world premiere of "i" (Feb. 16 - March 3), Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (March 30 - April 14) and Mamma Mia! (May 11-26).
Tickets to the concert version of Lin-Manuel Miranda's In the Heights, which will run for three performances March 16 and 17, are available now.
The season also includes three Play-by-Play new play readings, the first of which, Perpetual Girl by Wendy Wiener, takes place this weekend. Tickets for the readings are available.
Patrons can purchase tickets through the Box Office located in the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre, at 300 South and 1400 East on the University of Utah Campus, by calling 801-581-6961 or through the PTC website at www.pioneertheatre.org.
The box office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Individual ticket prices range from $25.00 to $64.00 ($5 more day of show). Also available are half-price tickets for students grade K-12 for all Monday and Tuesday performances. Group discounts are available for groups larger than 20.
Pioneer Theatre Company operates under an agreement between the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) and Actors' Equity Association, the Union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah's only fully professional theatre, performs at Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre, located on the University of Utah campus at 300 South and 1400 East in Salt Lake City, easily accessible by TRAX light rail. Free parking is also available and the theatre is equipped with an elevator, handicap parking, hearing assistance devices and other easy-access features.
