The timeless love story Aida plays at On Pitch Performing Arts February 1st-16th.
An enslaved Nubian princess, Aida, finds her heart entangled with Radames, an Egyptian soldier who is betrothed to the Pharaoh's daughter, Amneris. As their forbidden love blossoms, Aida is forced to weigh her heart against the responsibility that she faces as the leader of her people. Aida and Radames' love for one another becomes a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.
The production is directed by Brandon Stauffer. Stauffer says, "The story of Aida is one that will resonate with everyone, a story of love, loss and heartache. The cast of this show has created a beautiful production that I could not be more excited to share with our audiences."
Aida features a musical score written by Elton John and Tim Rice. It mixes rock music with the classic Broadway style, making for a relevant and upbeat musical. Audiences will leave the theatre with their toes tapping!
Quesley Ann Bunch, who plays the title role of Aida, said this: "I've dreamed of playing this role since I was a teenager. This show reminds us that everyone needs to experience love. It's ok to let love in!" Kris Crowl plays opposite Bunch in the role of Radames. Crowl said: "This show is gripping. It's a riveting story that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish."
Other featured cast includes Cariel Goodwin and Dede Williams, who share the role of Amneris, Asa Nielsen as Zosar, Conner Blankman as Mereb and Laura Anderson as Nehebka.
The talented individuals joining Stauffer on the production team include Amanda Larsen as costume designer, Dan Tate as music director, and Brayden Weidman as stage manager.
