Park City Institute presents Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, Thursday August 16, 2018 at 6:00 P.M., at City Park in Park City. The show is part of the 2018 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series. Gates open at 4:30 P.M.

"We're thrilled to welcome back Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers to our stage," said PCI Executive Director Teri Orr. "The band's blend of classical, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Motown, gospel, rock, and blues takes on a life of its own."

Multiple GRAMMY-winner, Hornsby, received praise for his song, "The Way it Is," and for the "remarkable feat of bringing a sober reflection on American racism to the top of the pop charts," from the New York Times. He has been inspired by a new generation of alt-rock musicians.

With multiple number-one hits to his name, Hornsby has released 10 studio albums-four with The Noisemakers. He has also recorded more than a dozen with other musicians, including the Grateful Dead, The Other Ones, and Ricky Skaggs. His live performances are known for infusing favorite songs with new and interesting twists and turns.

"The most spontaneous aspects of our shows occur when a song becomes reinvented," Hornsby said. "Or I turn one song into another, or I make-up new words. Or I'll just cut the band off and go into a new section that I'm making up in the moment, and then they'll come play it with me."

Bruce Hornsby and the The Noisemakers band includes: John "J. T." Thomas (keyboards, organ), Bobby Read (saxophones, woodwinds, flute), J. V. Collier (bass), Doug Derryberry (guitar, mandolin), and Sonny Emory (drums). NPR praised the band's latest record, Rehab Reunion, for its ability to hit, "the sweet spot between joyful improv and immaculate songcraft."
