Park City Institute presents Americana powerhouse vocal trio, RED MOLLY, at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center, Saturday, December 1st, 2018, at 7:30 PM.

"Red Molly have played their brand of harmony-rich Americana from Denver to Denmark, from Australia to Austin," said PCI Executive Director Teri Orr. "We are excited to present these musicians. Their performances create an instant rapport with the audience."

Laurie McAllister (bass), Abbie Gardner (Dobro), and Molly Venter (guitar) weave together the threads of American music-from folk roots, to bluegrass, from heartbreaking ballads to barn-burning honky-tonk-as effortlessly as they blend their Carmel voices into their signature, soaring, three-part harmonies. Their live performances bring audiences-from large festival stages to intimate concert halls-to their feet.

"There's something special about each woman bringing her individual strength to the performance, and also blending so well together," Venter said. "We're all three very sensitive to tone and pitch, and so it's so much fun to harmonize."

The trio toured for eleven years, together, before taking a hiatus from the road, and pursuing individual projects in 2015. By 2017 MacAllister, Gardner, and Venter were again working on a joint project One for All and All For One, a six-track EP, released earlier this year, thanks to the crowdfunding platform, PledgeMusic.

Mary Sue Twohy, of SiriusXM Satellite Radio, calls Red Molly the "Femme Phenom," noting their music leaves "no root from the grand tree of music... untouched -classic country heartbreak, undeniable swing, authentic folk, gospel rock with an edge, and Americana stomp. [E]very note sung is upheld on cosmic harmony. Red Molly is unstoppable."

Guests can expect a show filled with originals and covers - and plenty of stories.

"In addition to great three-part harmon, tight arrangements and lonesome dobro licks, I think what stands out about a Red Molly show is that it's a lot of fun," Venter said. "We are pretty candid onstage- we like to laugh, we say what pops into our heads and there's a nice communication between band and listeners."

Tickets for RED MOLLY start at $29. Members may purchase tickets to any two regular shows in the 2018-19 Main Stage Season, and receive tickets to a third show, free. Membership information may be found on parkcityinstitute.org. Discounts are also available for children (17 and under), seniors, and Summit County students (K-12). Call the Box Office at 435-655-3114 for more information.
