OBT Holds Auditions for New Musical Comedy STAR WARD, 2/20

The Off Broadway Theatre (OBT) presents the creators of the hit comedy MorMAN, Writer/Directors Paul Gibbs & Patrick Gibbs, with a new musical comedy that's light years ahead of its time, running from April 23 to May 29. Auditions for STAR WARD are Saturday, February 20, from 12:0pm to 4pm.

The classic "star Wars" films are lovingly parodied within the context of LDS culture. Thrill as Luke Singleswarder battles against the Great and Abominable Empire of sin to restore the anicent order of the Jedites, and also to bring peace and togetherness to the Singleswarder family. A family-friendly parody for all ages.

Auditions are Saturday, February 20, from 12:0pm to 4pm.

STAR WARD
EPISODE IV VERSE: 15

AND IT CAME TO PASS THAT THERE WAS A PERIOD OF CIVIL WAR.

THE GREAT AND ABOMINABLE EMPIRE HAS OUTLAWED FREE AGENCY, AND THE ANCIENT ORDER OF THE JEDITES HAVE BEEN EXTERMINATED BY THE EVIL DARTH SINNER, ENFORCER FOR "THE ADVERSARY".

PRINCESS LAMAN OF THE PLANET NAUVOO HAS RUSHED HOME UPON HER HYPERSPACE MINI-VAN, CARRYING A SECRET MESSAGE FOR THE REBEL ALLIANCE, IN HOPES OF RESTORING FREEDOM TO THE GALAXY . . .

CHARACTERS INCLUDE:

LUKE SINGLESWARDER, a farm boy who is called to serve.

PRINCESS LAMAN, a member of the Rebel Alliance and sweet spirit.

PORTER SOLO, smuggler and scoundrel, but almost ready for the first discussion.

DARTH SINNER, the Dark Lord, more machine than man.

BRIGGUM-YUNG KENOBI, the Jedite Master.

The droids, MTCPO and CTR2

BOBA FETCH, the Bounty Hunter, and his squad of manhunting BYU co-eds.

There are also ensemble roles for children ages 8 and up.

Please come prepared with 16 bars of a song, as well as a one minute comedic monologe ora monologue from any STAR WARS film. Headshots and resumes preferred.
