Plan-B Theatre's mission is to develop and produce unique and socially conscious theatre. Meat & Potato Theatre's mission is to tell powerful stories in the most compelling way possible. Combine the two and it's the perfect laboratory for new work!

The second round (2010-2012) of the Plan-B Theatre/Meat & Potato Theatre Playwrights Lab will commence in September in Salt Lake City with 6 new playwrights:

Carleton Bluford, Actor (most recently seen in Plan-B's WALLACE)
Beth Bruner, Co-Chair, Holladay Arts Council
Isabella Iasella, MA, Comparative Literature, University of Utah
Guy Lebeda, Literary Arts Manager, Utah Arts Council
Jim Martin, Co-Founder, Wasatch Theatre Company
Lucy Ridolphi, just completed Salt Lake Film Society's Utah Screenwriters Program

The first year of the lab will culminate in free reading of scenes and monologues by all 6 playwrights on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 7pm in the Studio Theatre as part of Plan-B Theatre's Script-In-Hand Series.

The Lab was launched in 2008 with eight playwrights, all of whom were produced locally during their two-year tenure in The Lab. In 2009, four directors were added to The Lab.
