Emmy-winning, family friendly rock band Imagination Movers wraps up the 2015-2016 Eccles Center season with "fresh and treacle-free" (Parenting magazine) hits on April 16. Shows are at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 435-655-3114 or online at EcclesCenter.org.
"This is a show that entertains children and their grown-up sidekicks with fun, smart rockin' tunes," says PCI's executive director Teri Orr. "We're delighted to end the season with an upbeat show that reaches our up-and-coming audience members."
The foursome - Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche and Scott "Smitty" Smith - makes music that speaks to kids and tackles every pint-sized conundrum, from bedtime fears to eating healthy foods. Positive and bursting with energy, The Movers stick by their motto onstage and in life: Reach high, think big, work hard, have fun!
"Prized by many parents for noncondescending lyrics and music that evokes the Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers" (The New York Times), The Movers traverse genres, incorporating everything from country to hip-hop into their performance. The four friends (and dads) started their band in New Orleans in 2003. Since then, they've filmed three seasons of their hit music-and-comedy series for Disney Junior, sold approximately a half million CDs and DVDs and performed in venues ranging from the White House and Sesame Place to Germany and Guam. The band's 2013 record, "Back in Blue" debuted at No.1 Children's Album on iTunes Canada and No. 2 on the iTunes U.S.; and they've graced the sets of "Good Morning America," "The View" and "Live with Regis & Kathy Lee." The band makes its debut Park City performance as part of its current "Licensed to Move" tour.
The final show of the 2015-2016 Eccles Center Season will inspire plenty of get-out-of-that-seat-and-groove fun as the Movers call for audience members to "jump up, get down, stand up and turn around!"
