SLC Tap, Debby Robertson and Wendi Isaacson have collaborated to produce the fifth annual Tap Fest, a tap-dance intensive workshop, stimulating the art of tap and pushing the form to greater heights. Here's an exciting opportunity for tap students and teachers to learn from professional guest artists, improve technical skills and add flair to their artistry, all while making valuable local connections and expanding Utah's tap community.

Highlighting this unique one-day festival will be classes of every variety, including two "musical theater" tap classes, "How to Survive your next Tap Audition," the historic "Coles Stroll" (originated by Honi Coles and the Copasetics), and a class especially for youngsters, "Tap's Next Generation."

These intensive workshops educate and stimulate interest in the art form's past, present and future.

Utah's best master tap teachers will lead the classes, including B.Y.U. emeritus professor Colleen West, SLC Tap director and Tap Fest producer Debby Robertson, Dance Club, BYU and Millenium faculty member Wendi Isaacson, in addition to Michelle Butterfield, Jann LeVitre, Chante Stutzneger, Carly Anderson and Izzy Isaacson.

Utah Tap Fest offers a full day of classes, including beginner through advanced level. All ages are welcome, and some previous tap experience is necessary. Students in beginner classes should already know the basics. "Footworkin" is our featured beginner level class for tappers of all ages. New this year is our "Tap's Next Generation" class, specifically designed for children ages 5-10, who have little or no tap experience.
