Desert Star Playhouse kicks off its 2011 Season with "Back From The Future: What Happens in 1985 Stays in 1985." This hilarious time travel parody for the whole family opens January 6th at Desert Star Playhouse.

Written by Ed Farnsworth and directed by Scott Holman, "Back From the Future" is filled with nutty characters, romance, and a '80s nostalgia. Average teenager Marvin McFlea has a crush on pop star Miley Cyrus, but what chance has he got with her? So he travels back in time to the totally awesome year of 1985 to make his parents rich and famous. But his meddling upsets the space/time continuum. Suddenly Marvin finds he's in a race against time to save both his future and his past. With help of Doc Emma Braun, he must battle an evil tetherball coach, Coach Strictman, along with his father's nemesis: Buff Tanman.

Desert Star's 2011 season includes 7 hilarious musical parodies! Following "Back From The Future," enjoy a clash of cultures when everyone's favorite rednecks move to the big city in "Beverly Hillbillies 90210: You Might Be A Redneck If... ." This is followed by a hilarious whodunit: "Sheer-Luck Holmes: Clueless Again!" Don't miss the side-splitting western "Goldilocks Capone & THE 3 AMIGOS." The strong arm of comedy will flex it's muscles with "HUNK-cules: I'm Too Sexy For My Toga." Then it is off to the court room with "Legally Brunette: Not All Dumbs Are Blonde." The 2011 season ends with a merry romp through the holiday season in "It's A Wonderful Life: Winging In the Holidays." Season tickets are still available and may be purchased by calling the box office at (801) 266-2600.

"Back From the Future" runs from January 7 to March 13, 2010. The evening also includes one of Desert Star's signature musical olios following the show. The "Malt Shop Sock Hop" olio features classic songs from the 1950's mixed with more of Desert Star's signature comedy.

Food is available from an á la carte menu and is served right at your table. The menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh wraps, appetizers, and scrumptious desserts.
