Craft Lake City and Argentina's Best Empanadas present the January 2017 Empanadas Workshop with Ana Valdemoros. Argentina's Best Empanadas, a local purveyor of traditionally and fresh made empanadas, has served the Salt Lake Valley for over 10 years. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Argentina's Best Empanadas from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Ana Valdemoros started selling freshly baked empanadas at the Downtown Farmers Market in the summer of 2006. In 2016, Valdemoros opened Argentina's Best Empanadas storefront in downtown Salt Lake City, where she sells five kinds of empanadas, freshly made with locally sourced ingredients that strive to meet the highest caliber.

In Dec. 2016, Craft Lake City featured Ana Valdemoros of Argentina's Best Emapanadas as an instructing artisan. Because of how quick.y the first workshop sold out, Craft Lake City is giving the opportunity for patrons to enjoy the same workshop as the first Craft Lake City Artisan Workshop of 2017.

"Back by popular demand is our first food workshop of 2017," says Craft Lake City's Event and Education Coordinator Wesley Spry. "Craft Lake City is passionate about providing new and eclectic workshops for the 2017 season. We know you will enjoy learning how to make these empanadas and sharing them with your friends and family."

Workshop participants will learn the basics of filling and folding empanadas and will go home with half a dozen each of two types of empanadas: brie cheese, pecans and fruit preserves and a savory mushroom and cheese empanada.

There is a $35 material fee for this workshop, which includes empanada education and supplies to make one dozen empanadas. Pre-registration is required. Register here. Visit craftlakecity.com/workshops or our Facebook for more information.

Workshop Attendance Policy: Participants are required to arrive and check in with the Craft Lake City Workshop Coordinator five minutes before the workshop begins, or their spot will be given to a participant on the waitlist. If you wish to be added to the waitlist, please arrive 15 minutes before the workshop begins and check in with our Workshop Coordinator. You will be added to the waitlist to take the place of an absent participant's spot, first-come, first-served. Waitlisters are not guaranteed admittance.
