Hale Centre Theatre, Utah's Premiere Family Theatre, is celebrating its 30th anniversary year with a stellar 2015 season announced today, bringing big production names and Hale's 13th regional premiere to the theatre in the round.

One of the highlights of the season is the regional premiere of Ghost the Musical, fresh off runs in London and on Broadway. Also included in the lineup are Mark Twain's classic Is He Dead?, the universally loved Disney story of The Little Mermaid, and Big Fish, the uplifting story of love and family.

The season opens on New Year's Eve 2014 with the comedy Is He Dead?, and A Christmas Carol will wrap up the season with its 30th anniversary production.

Hale Centre Theatre's 2015 season features the following musicals and comedies:

Is He Dead?
Dec. 31, 2014 - Feb. 7, 2015

After realizing great paintings make more money once the artist is dead, a French artist fakes his own death and re-emerges as his own "sister," in this comedy written by Mark Twain and adapted by David Ives.

Ghost the Musical
Feb. 20 - April 11

Adapted from the modern classic, this hit musical tells the story of Sam and Molly - a love that transcends death - set against comedy, friendship, betrayal and murder. The musical, by Rubin, Stewart and Ballard, also brings beautiful new compositions to complement 'Unchained Melody.'

Over the River and Through the Woods
April 17 - May 23

This comedy from renowned playwright Joe DiPietro is the tale of two loud, opinionated sets of Jewish-Italian grandparents who plot to keep their beloved grandson nearby using a surprise set up with the perfect girl.

Disney's The Little Mermaid
June 5 - Aug. 1

Based on Hans Christian Andersen's timeless coming-of-age story, this Disney musical follows the mermaid Ariel as she defies her father to pursue her fascination with the world on land. She must learn to navigate a new, sometimes dangerous, world as she finds her prince and discovers that life out of the water comes with its own challenges and rewards. The show is from Ashman, Slater, Menken and Wright.

Musical to Be Announced
Aug. 12 - Oct. 3

To be announced in early Aug. 2014.

Big Fish
Oct. 14 - Nov. 28

Fresh off Broadway, this beautiful new musical portrays the love of a father and son, and husband and wife. Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Motion Picture written by John August, the show by August and Lippa explores hope, family and the way people see the world. A father uses 'bigger than life' tales to teach his son, and his son is left to decide where the truth lies.

A Christmas Carol
Dec. 5 - Dec. 24

Ebenezer Scrooge's classic story of redemption is coming to the Hale stage for its 30th anniversary. Adapted by Wilkins and Bradford from Charles Dickens, this beautiful production has become a beloved Christmas tradition, touching every heart with Tiny Tim's triumphant, "God bless us, everyone!"

Season tickets will go on sale to current HCT season ticket holders at the end of May and to the general public August 1. For ticket information, call (801) 984-9000, go to www.hct.org, or visit the box office at 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive in West Valley City.
