Red is an intense and dramatic two-character play created by playwright John Logan. Red explores the complex connection between artist and creation through the eyes of the artist and explores the inner struggle to achieve this. This play is centered around the moment when Rothko is forced to create one masterwork to define him as an artist, which in turn results in the struggle between Rothko's pride and vulnerability against Ken, the protege and assistant, and eventually each other.
