Conceived by Founding Artistic Director Joan Schirle, Elisabeth’s Book is the exploration of friendship under conditions that test the will to survive. The story, told mainly through images, movement and music, is based on the journey of a Holocaust artifact made in 1944. The first work-in-progress showings of this new took place in April and the full production premieres at the Mad River Festival. Created in collaboration with Alain Schons, director/designer, whose participation is funded by an In The Lab grant from the TCG Global Connections program. Dell'Arte International is a participant in the Global Connections–IN the LAB program, funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by Theatre Communications Group, the national organization for the professional not-for-profit American theatre.
