The Mendocino Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Pamela W. Allen will take over as the company's Executive Director when Felicia Freitas steps down this August. Ms. Allen brings with her a strong work ethic and an ease and talent for working with diverse groups of individuals and volunteers. Ms. Freitas will be leaving the Mendocino Theatre Company in advance of the birth of her first child with husband and fellow Mendocino Theatre Company member Brendan McGuigan.

An impressively active company member since 2012, Ms. Allen has appeared as an actress in many productions, including Boy Gets Girl, The Graduate, and Gaslight, served on the Mendocino Theatre Company Board of Directors for three years, catered opening night galas, and organized the company's successful 2014 Jazz Age Paris Fundraiser.

In addition to her previous work with the Mendocino Theatre Company, Pamela brings experience from her work in the American and Italian fashion industries, merchandising display design, art and trade show installations, non-profit event management, and small business direction. Additionally, she studied theatre extensively for two years and attended the first VITA summer Shakespeare workshop with Bill Peck (ACT) and Judith Sutton in 1975.

Ms. Allen will assume the responsibility of the management and oversight of the theatre's operations and programming, including the production of its six-play, main-stage season. Additional responsibilities will include the production of special events and educational workshops, marketing and publicity, and community outreach and coordination.

When asked about her upcoming role running the Mendocino Theatre Company, Ms. Allen said, "Under the direction of Felicia Freitas, the Mendocino Theatre Company has become more vibrant, attractive, and relevant. I look forward to the challenge of filling the big shoes that she leaves me!"
