The B Street Theatre, Sacramento's Resident Professional, New Works Theatre, has announced the opening show for the 2012/2013 Mainstage Season and offer a special summer engagement of Improv and Sketch Comedy.

MAINSTAGE:

Looks & Money

Featuring...

The Ugly One by Marius von Mayenburg, translated by Maja Zade: Are people defined by the way they look? Unfortunately for Lette, the answer is a resounding 'yes'. A geeky engineer gradually loses his sense of self when the miracle of plastic surgery turns him into a modern day Romeo.

After Lette gains his newfound handsomeness, the world is his oyster, with women and opportunities falling at his feet. That is, until the surgeon starts duplicating his work on others. The true meaning of identity is questioned in this comedy where face value gets a whole new meaning.

The New Tenant by Eugene Ionesco, translated by Donald Watson: More than laughs abound in B Street's revival of Eugene Ionesco's absurdist gem The New Tenant. Ionesco turns our cluttered, super-sized world inside-out.
