Sacramento Regional Theatre Alliance is composed of many theatres around Sacramento all of which have their own theatre locations and will be presenting various shows throughout the summer.

STC has offered a portion of the proceeds from this fundraising event to benefit SARTA (Sacramento Regional Theatre Alliance). STC would like local and regional community theatres to have the opportunity to perform during commercial breaks of the Tony Award broadcast. Any theatres interested in participating may contact SARTA at sarta@sarta.com or 916-443-8229. Musical numbers are limited to 2 -3 minutes with a max of 2-4 performers. Pre-recorded music only.

El Dorado Musical Theatre (EDMT) presents auditions for HONK! JR.

El Dorado Musical Theatre will audition for Honk! Jr., The Ugly Duckling Musical on Saturday, May 12th at 9:00 am. Auditions will be held at EDMT's rehearsal facility located in the El Dorado Hills Business Park at 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway, Suite 4. All who audition should dress to dance and be prepared to sing a song of up to one minute in length to either a background CD, acapella or with the piano accompanist.

Honk! Jr. is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, incorporating a message of tolerance. Honk! Jr. tells the story of an odd looking baby duck, Ugly, and his quest to find his mother. Soon after Ugly is born, he is seduced away by a wily Cat who wants to eat Ugly for dinner. Eventually, Ugly manages to escape but has no idea how to return home. Along his way, he encounters a beautiful swan, Penny, tangled in a fishing line. After saving her, the two birds fall in love. However, she must return to her flock and fly south for the winter. Eventually, Ugly's mother finds him frozen in snow. Luckily, her warm tears manage to thaw him out and he comes back to life - as a handsome swan! Soon, Ugly is reunited with Penny and the two swans decide to live the rest of their days in the same pond as Ugly's loyal mother.
