THE INTERVIEWS at The Actors Workshop, a comedy for anyone who has ever been on either side of a job interview
THE INTERVIEWS is the comedic story of Gary, a middle-manager at a sales company who is wrapping up some final items at the office before leaving on his Hawaiian vacation with his wife. Before he can leave, he is informed by his boss that he must take over the interviews for another manager and hire someone before he can go on his trip. Gary endures a series of hysterical, but less than qualified candidates, throughout the day. Will he find the right one in time, or will his frustrated wife leave without him?

Characters:
Gary - Branch Manager for a sales organization; a rather ordinary man in his mid to late 30's who is comfortable wearing his suit. Gary is a overly dedicated employee who always wants to do his very best and is loyal to his company to a fault.

Jason - is an employee of Gary's. He is about the same age but a more fun-loving and free willed individual who takes life much less serious than Gary. Jason can see the comedy in a situation and is less worried about professionalism.

Boss - an individual in their fifties; tough and without much sympathy. Has a somewhat nasty disposition and leaves no one wondering who is in charge.

Lucy - a younger southern woman way under-dressed for an interview and carrying a young baby in a front carrier. Some may go so far as to call her "white trash". She is sweet and genuine.

Suzanne -a well dressed woman with a pleasant disposition in her late twenties to early thirties. She speaks at an extremely slow pace unless agitated. She doesn't acknowledge that she is speaking at a pace so much slower than everyone else.

James - a pleasant looking man with a partial beard, in his late twenties to early thirties. James has tried his hand over the years at many occupations, but has found no success at any and blames that on everyone but himself.

Ronnie - a young man who works in fast food and is oblivious to the world around him. Ronnie lives in somewhat of a fantasy world, though this is not always evident.

Jill - a middle-aged woman who dresses in a professional manner, but has some mental health issues that become apparent after spending time with her.

Mary - Gary's wife; around his same age and dresses in an attractive business casual style. She is a no-nonsense type of woman who loves her husband but doesn't love his loyalty to his employer or his strong work ethic.

Annie - a woman older than 55 but dresses and acts as if she is a heiress in her twenties.

Charles - a well dressed man who carries himself with a hint of arrogance. Charles is that guy who always knows someone who has done something better than you have.

Helen -is a free spirited woman in her forties or fifties who enjoys being unemployed, and having the occasional stiff drink to help her relax.

This story takes place in modern day and all in the same day.

Auditions: Tuesday, October 25th, 7PM -- Callbacks (if needed) Tuesday, November 1st.
Performances: January 12-Feb 6, 2012
Rehearsals begin November 15 (to accommodate time off for Christmas and New Years)
