Runaway Stage Productions presents the perfect musical to ring in the holiday: Mame, playing October 24 - November 16 at the Sierra 2 Center 24th Street Theatre in downtown Sacramento. Tickets ranging from $18-25 are available online at www.runawaystage.com or through the Box Office at 916-207-1226. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Concluding the 2014 Mainstage RSP season, Mame journeys back in time to the fabulous 1920's with the eccentric woman who appeared on Broadway and became two Hollywood films, one of which starred Lucille Ball. Mame Dennis must drastically adjust her lifestyle when she becomes the guardian of her 10-year old nephew, Patrick. As they cope with the Depression, life takes them on a series of adventures in which they learn to enjoy life and follow Mame's famous motto, "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death."

Featuring classic Jerry Herman tunes such as "We Need A Little Christmas," "It's Today," "Bosom Buddies," "My Best Girl" and the exciting and memorable title song, this Tony award-winning show will be a fun adventure for audiences of all ages.

Darryl Strohl DeHerrera directs and choreographs the fully-staged, live musical with RSP favorite Ruth Phillips (Fiddler on the Roof, 9 to 5, Wizard of Oz) as the title character. Chris Stewart stars as Mame's "bosom buddy" Vera Charles, with Lauren Ettensohn as Agnes Gooch, Travis Hoffman as the adult Patrick Dennis, Brent Null as Dwight Babcock, Eduard Arakelyan as Ito, Haleyanne DuBiel as Lindsay Woolsey and Maxwell Freedman as Peter Dennis. Deann Golz and Peter Kagstrom direct the music and the Runaway Stage Productions Resident Orchestra.

RSP's Storybook Theatre will also be active in November, presenting the timeless fairy tale, Cinderella, in a new musical adaptation of the treasured film written specifically for young audiences. Mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, Cinderella finds her own magical way to the royal ball, and with the help from her mice friends and her Fairy Godmother, her dreams come true. The musical plays November 1, 8 and 15 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. at the Sierra 2 Center's 24th Street Theatre. Tickets are available at 916-207-1226 or www.runawaystage.com.
