Runaway Stage Productions (RSP) began serving the region's theatre community in 1997 at the Eagle Theater in Old Sacramento and now performs at the 24th Street Theater at the Sierra 2 Center. It is the only Community Theatre Company in the greater Sacramento Area that is priveleged to have an 18 piece Resident Orchestra dedicated to providing "live" music during performances. The company stages six Broadway style productions each season, and six original Storybook Children's Theater shows, which are tailored to younger audiences.

Runaway Stage Productions also offers education and enrichment of all audiences through its Youth Musical Theatre Workshops which introduce school age children to the theatrical experience. RSP provides a new learning opportunity through the "Broadway Kids" series, which introduces children between the ages of five to nine to the stage in a fun and nurturing environment.
