Let it go! Let it go! And come to Runaway Stage Productions' The Full Monty. The Broadway musical all about finding strength and confidence in the midst of life's troubles plays July 6-29 at the 24th Street Theatre in downtown Sacramento.
"The Full Monty is one of the rare shows that mixes humor, personal issues of acceptance and perseverance together into an incredibly entertaining show," RSP Producing Director Bob Baxter said.
Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their "Girls' Night Out," unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process, they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings of worthlessness and anxieties over everything from being overweight to child custody to being gay, they come to discover that not only are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to face their demons and overcome them.
"The six men in this production bring their heart, soul and talent to the stage in this show, I'm very proud of each and every one of them" Baxter said.
Based on the 1997 film, The Full Monty received nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. For the Runaway Stage production, the multiple elly award winning team of Producing Director Bob Baxter and choreographer Darryl Strohl once again join forces with musical Director Gary Suits and the fabulous RSP resident orchestra to stage this entertaining musical!
"Originally produced by RSP in 2006, we are excited to bring back this entertaining, fun show for all," Baxter said.
