With memorable, sing-along songs such as "Food, Glorious Food," "Consider Yourself," and "I'd Do Anything," Oliver! comes to the Music Circus stage July 19-24. Based on the Charles Dickins' classic novel Oliver Twist, the musical brings to life the trials and tribulations of the iconic orphan who dared to ask for more.
The original production of Oliver! had successful runs in both London and New York. On Broadway in 1963, Oliver! won three Tony Awards and launched the careers of Davy Jones of The Monkees and Phil Collins of Genesis when they were children and cast as Oliver Twist and The Artful Dodger, respectfully. It was adapted to film in 1968 and won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
The Music Circus production will star Christopher Bones as the iconic orphan Oliver Twist and Matthew Gumley as the masterful young pickpocket nicknamed The Artful Dodger. Ron Wisniski stars as pickpocket mentor Fagin, and Jacquelyn Piro Donovan stars as Nancy, the troubled girlfriend of master criminal Bill Sykes, to be played by Aaron Serotsky.
