As Its final show of 2013, New Helvetia Theatre will present Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tell Me on a Sunday starring Sacramento favorite Nanci Zoppi.

Zoppi plays the idealistic Emma, who embarks on a quest for love and success after her first New York sweetheart proves less than loyal. But while her fashion career eventually takes off, her adventures in romance leave her lonely. She struggles to find herself amidst the men who love her in Andrew Lloyd Webber's titillating, moving one-act song cycle.

Artistic Director Connor Mickiewicz directs the show with Graham Sobelman providing musical direction. Tell Me on a Sunday, which opens Friday October 11th, follows New Helvetia's beloved 2013 productions of The Gingerbread Lady and Ordinary Days.

Tell Me on a Sunday, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Don Black, originally debuted in the West End as the first act of Webber's Song and Dance in 1982 starring Sarah Brightman and Marti Webb.

Richard Maltby Jr's American adaptation with additional lyrics opened on Broadway in the fall of 1985 with Bernadette Peters, who earned a Tony Award in 1986 for her impassioned portrayal of Emma. Though one of Webber's lesser known works, Tell Me on a Sunday includes some of the composer's most famous songs: Tell Me on a Sunday and Unexpected Song.

Now, New Helvetia Theatre treats Sacramento audiences to an evening with Nanci Zoppi performing some of Webber's most beloved music. Tickets are available through New Helvetia Theatre's box office. Call 916-469-9850 or purchase online at www.newhelvetia.org.
