Music Circus Update; SPAMALOT Plays Final 5 Performances, JOSEPH Opens 7/20

The reviews are in and the critics are raving about the Music Circus production of Monty Python's "Spamalot."

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" opens Tuesday, July 20

A fanciful view of biblical Egypt with Joseph, his jealous brothers and a rockin' pharaoh. This colorful musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice showcases a kaleidoscope of musical styles from rock to country to calypso.

Opening July 20-25, 2010, children ages 4-11 are half-price for this family-friendly musical.
Starring Max Von Essen as Joseph and Jennifer Paz as the Narrator, and a 47-member children's choir.

"Oklahoma!" opens July 27

After taking last summer off, Rodgers & Hammerstein return to the Music Circus with the most quintessentially American musical, "Oklahoma!" Directed by 2010 Tony Award-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge, the cast will be lead by Jeremiah James reprising his role as Curly from the first national tour and Brandi Burkhardt as Laurey.

More than a groundbreaking musical, "Oklahoma!" celebrates the American pioneer spirit. Independent, warm-hearted women and befuddled, hard-headed men -- rugged ranchers and dogged farmers -- on one of the last American frontiers as it approaches statehood.

With "R&H" classics a cornerstone of the Music Circus summer, California Musical Theatre is proud to present perhaps the most truly American work of the American Musical Theatre as part of the 60th anniversary season.
