'Mathemagician' Arthur Benjamin Coming to Gallo Center in January

Arthur Benjamin, Ph.D., a professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California and a professional magician, combines his two passions in an entertaining and fast-paced show he is bringing to the Gallo Center for the Arts on Tuesday, January 15. The performance begins at 7 pm.

Dr. Benjamin will demonstrate how to mentally add and multiply numbers faster than a calculator, how to figure out the day of the week of any date in history, and other amazing feats of mind. He is winner of the national teaching award from the Mathematical Association of America, and was listed by Princeton Review as one America's Top 300 Professors.

Among his many media appearances and profiles are "The Today Show," CNN, "The Colbert Report," National Public Radio, The New York Times, USA Today, Wired, Omni and Scientific American.
