MSTW Announces Cast for 2016 Summer Season

Main Street Theatre Works is proud to announce their cast for the 2016 Summer Season. The first summer show is The Explorers Club, by Nell Benjamin, running June 24th through July 23rd. at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre in Jackson, CA. The Explorers Club is a comedic look at Victorian adventurers who ponder the mysteries of science and nature, while genteelly getting blotto. The cast stars Christopher Celestin as Lucius Fretway, a botanist, Amber Lucito as Phyllida Spotte-Hume, an explorer and first female applicant to the Club, Scott Taylor as Harry Percy, an intrepid explorer, and Scott Divine as Luigi, a NaKong tribesman. Also in the cast are Brandon Rapoza as Professor Cope, a herpetologist, Michael Sicilia as Professor Sloan, an archeo-theologist, Paj Crank as Professor Walling, a zoologist, Earl Victorine as Sir Bernard Humphries, private secretary to Queen Victoria, and Joshua H. Behn as Beebe, a deserted explorer.

The second summer show, The Last Lifeboat written by Luke Yankee, is a fascinating look at the drama behind the sinking of the Titanic through the eyes of its builder, J. Bruce Ismay, who found his way into the last lifeboat and survived the disaster. The story explores not only what happened on that fateful night in 1912, but also how it forever changed the life of Ismay and his family. Dan Fagan stars at J. Bruce Ismay, Bethany Hidden as his wife, Florence, and Mallory Monachino as Ismay's former girlfriend and Titanic passenger, Vivian. The rest of the cast, which includes Scott Taylor, Paj Crank, Eric Craig, Janey Pintar and Linda Taylor, portray the 53 other characters that round out the cast. The Last Lifeboat runs August 12th through September 10th at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre.

Performances for both shows are Friday and Saturday nights, with gates opening at 6:30, show starting at 8:00pm. Patrons are encouraged to come early with picnics, chairs and jackets. The Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre is located at 1127 North Main Street in Jackson, CA.
