Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Sierra and Imagination Theater, in celebration of the 100th year Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, are proud to present Hear My Voice by Rachael McClinton.

This dramatic and inspiring presentation by Rachel McClinton. The program combines a dynamic solo performance with archival film and sound, turning history into a moving and personal journey. The central character in the performance is Jessie, the daughter of a political columnist from Tennessee, growing up in Washington, DC during the early 1900's.

She becomes deeply involved in the suffrage movement, in time comparing women's fight for the right to vote to the one her younger brother Will stands for when he goes overseas to fight as a WWI soldier. As tragedy strikes both at home and abroad, and the battle for the vote continues to escalate, everyone in Jessie's family must face their own decisions about what they believe is right and the actions they are willing to take on this pivotal issue.
