Don Devers was a celebrated NFL star linebacker for 9 years. Now in his 50s, the toll of his excellence has decimated his body and mind. He spends his days in his chair subsisting on Gatorade and Pringles. Don's daughter sets up a meeting with Don's biggest fan, aspiring sports writer Ed Ryan.
Don agrees to let Ed spend a week with him and gives him full access to write about his life. Thrilled at first, Ed soon realizes that there is more to Don than his heroics on the field in this poignant, heartfelt story from playwright Ken Weitzman.
